Eutelsat 5A West Satellite at 5.0° West

Eutelsat 5 West A, commonly known as Atlantic Bird 3, is one of the satellites owned by Eutelsat. Currently, the satellite sits at 5 degrees west where The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks uses its powerful digital signals to provide its top-notch broadcasting and distribution services, therefore, forming the basis of The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks satellite television and radio transmissions around the regions with its reception dishes across Europe.

History of Eutelsat 5 West A.

The satellite started operating in September 2002. Initially, the technology was built for France Telecom, but on the launch, it was transferred to Eutelsat. The technology for making the orbiter originated from Alcatel Space, and by that time, they used to call it Stellat 5. Notably, during its development two telecommunication giants namely France Telecom and Europe*Star funded the program 70% and 30% respectively. On July 5, 2002, Alcatel launched the rocket alongside a Japanese satellite N-STAR c using an Ariane 5 G rocket at the Guyana Space Centre. The satellite weighs 4050 kilos. Not long after commissioning did the France Telecom seized its space operations. In the same month, the latter company sold the orbiter to Eutelsat who operates it up to date. Notably, the satellite is expected to have a lifespan of 17 years.

Eutelsat 5 West A Technical Features.

The satellite by then known as the Atlantic Bird 3 was designed and built by Alcatel Space alongside Alcatel Alenia Space. Notably, the orbiter was assembled on a 3B platform. Technically, the latter technology was fitted with 35 K band repeaters and was supposed to cover Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Currently, the Orbiter transmits at 94W using Ku bands repeaters, and 55W using 12C band repeaters.

Transmission Features.

After launch, the satellite replaced Telecom 2C Satellite. It is in this regard that The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks took its analog platform and continued transmitting the channels via feeding the TDF terrestrial transmitters and reach receivers in areas where the latter technology was not available. Notably, at the time, The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks used the satellite to transmit to over 1.6 million households. On November 29, 2011, France ceased all-analog transmission and switched to the digital platform. With the dawn of digital technology, the communication board chose the satellite to feed terrestrial transmitters. Currently, The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks is using the digital platform to allow the French people to have continued and uninterrupted access to free to air channels even after the transition. Since the termination of the analog signal in 2011. Through Eutelsat 5 West, The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks is dedicated to offering to the French people unmatched high-quality broadcasting and transmission services to every person at every corner of the region. The commitment to remain the best satellite service provider across the globe makes The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks penetrate all corners of Europe regardless of how remote some areas are.

Regulatory Requirements.

In 2007, the French legislators passed a bill, which was named "The Future of Television." By the law, any national TV broadcaster airing on the digital platform had to broadcast their free to air channel through a satellite that could be accessed by everybody such as Eutelsat 5 West. According to the secretary of state, the scenario would help over 1.5 households using Eutelsat 5 West A to be able to access channels without redirecting their dishes. The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks surpassed those requirements through its superior services and remains committed to providing top quality Teleport, Uplink and Downlink services for RADIO and TV, high-quality playout and cutting-edge encryption services. The Global eXclusive Satellite Telecommunication Services & Fiber Optic Networks strives to keep its promise of remaining flexible and understanding your satellite broadcasting needs.
